Happy holidays
As I prepare to host my family for our Christmas eve dinner, I wanted to take a minute to reflect on how amazing this year has been for me. I decided to take initiative in my business and it paid off. Thank you to all of the wonderful people who hired me to document their weddings or their families.
How fortunate are we when our passion and our work collides? I know it's rare and I am blessed to have the opportunity to spend some of my days behind my camera.
What's more, I have amazing family & friends who probably will never know exactly how much they mean to me.
Take a minute this holiday season to remind yourself of the blessings you have.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! See you in 2009.
Don't forget to visit my booth at Columbus Bride, The Show on January 3 and 4 at Veterns Memorial. My dear friends, Ginger, Kara and Ashlee will be there representing Minister Images Photography while I am at a wedding in Phoenix, AZ. Email me if you need a discounted entrance ticket. I'll drop it in the mail before I leave! katie(at)ministerimages(dot)com.

Colleen and Mike
On Friday night, I was asked to photograph the candlelit wedding service for Colleen and Mike. It was beautiful on the snowy evening. Afterward I followed the couple down to Lindey's where they had a great dinner with all of their friends and family.
Best wishes to you both and thank you for thinking of me to photograph this special day!
Enjoy the preview.

I heard Christmas music on the radio the other day and realized that several weeks have slipped right by!
I have been busy! Second shot another wedding with a friend, learned a lot from him. Thanks, Brian.
Booked several weddings for 2009 and one last minute November one. Set up several portrait sessions and advertising opportunities...
And finally finished the family portrait. HA!

"Family Portrait" session
Yesterday I had so much fun with Eric and his roomates. We spent an hour or so taking portaits of them to re-enact the Death Row family portrait from the early 90's. I haven't had a chance to photoshop it all together yet, but here's a preview...
Really I couldn't stop laughing the whole time! Thanks guys for a fun Saturday aftenoon.

Contact me if you're interested in holiday portaits, I'm considering one Saturday, no sitting fee, mini portrait studio with holiday decorations set up in my home. If I can get 5 families, it's a go for November 15!

Randy & Taylor
Yesterday I had the privilege of shooting Taylor & Randy's wedding in Columbus, Indiana. It was great to finally meet them in person and such a fun party!
I LOVED Taylor's pink shoes and the Halloween masks!
Many thanks to my friend, Beth, who introduced my work to her son and daughter-in-law!
Enjoy the slide show from their day.

Third Birthdays
On Saturday, we had my son's 3rd birthday party. He & his friends had a ball playing with the new drum set (thanks Mimi and Pop Pop) and of course, the cake. Here are a few snapshots to commemorate the day.

Good News for Brides and Grooms!
NEW PRICING!!!
Yes, you read correctly. I changed my collections and that's good for you because they are now more affordable for these tough economic times.
Yes, you read correctly. I changed my collections and that's good for you because they are now more affordable for these tough economic times.
Every day as I've watched the market drop and heard the woes of my friends and families, I've considered what it must be like planning a wedding today. Wow, it's got to be hard to find the money for all of the things you need...a dress, flowers, the rings. Not to mention the fun extras! And photography, well, who doesn't want to have the best to capture their day forever??
Just a teaser, my starting collection includes an album for $1850. Two photographers, all day coverage and a beautiful album for $2600. Email me today to get the Collection Prices.

I LOVE this job!
I took a photo at one of my friend's weddings and couldn't resist having it framed because I loved it so much.
When I gave it to her today and she was smiling, it occured to me...I love being a photographer! What other occupation gives you the joy of letting people remember their finest moments?
Call or email me today, I want to shoot more!

Checking in!
It's been too long since I last "blogged" my photography going ons. This past weekend Ben and his brothers celebrated a bachelor party. They helped the Cleveland Browns get a big win on Monday Night Football!
I was fortunate enough to shoot a wedding with a new friend on Saturday. Here's one of my favorite images.
I've got a 3rd birthday approaching, a wedding in Indiana, some roommate "family" portraits and a few other tricks up my sleeve. Keep coming back for more!

My cute neighbor...
On Sunday, I met up with some of our old neighbors to do 2 year old pictures of Casey! We went down to OSU to see all of the Brutuses (Bruti?) that were designed around town and to the stadium.
However my favorite images came from just across the street when we were focused just on the birthday boy! He was a natural, except for hating the sweater vest.
If you're intrested in setting up portraits for the holiday season, call or email me soon!

Hurricanes!
Did anyone else know that there was another hurricane headed up the East coast this weekend? I didn't, but I can tell you that I've had just about enough with this hurricane business. First, a WEEK without power and then a whole weekend spent nearly drowning in the rain in Boston.
We went for a friend's wedding, which was great and got to catch up with lots of college friends. Thanks to avid blog reader Mark, Stephanie and Ellen who put us up - or maybe just put up with us!!
Unfortunatley, I didn't get to spend Friday in Boston with my camera as planned thanks to Hurricane Kyle. So the most fun photos that I got were from our 30 minutes hanging around Fenway Park before the Red Sox - Indians game on Thursday night.
I'm still booking weddings for 2009 and portraits every weekend on a regular basis, so get in touch now. If you're hoping to do holiday family photos, get booked with me by November 15!

Sarah and Mike
I met Sarah last February and Septemebr 20 seemed so far off. Even in April, when we shot their enegagement photos, their wedding was far away!
To view images from the wedding when they are posted, www.pictage.com/432715.
Thanks for visiting my blog!
Yesterday, however, snunk up on me and I was surprised to find myself preparing to spend the day with Sarah & Mike, celebrating their marriage. I often have the opportunity to get to know many of the brides and grooms that I work with and it has truly been a pleasure knowing Sarah (and Mike, of course!!)
So many of their family & friends came to Columbus for their day, it is clear that they are both loved by many. Thank you, Sarah and Mike, for giving me the chance to photograph this day.
Here is a preview of their wedding...
Thanks for visiting my blog!
