We're ENGAGED!

I have been so busy lately and have not had the opportunity to post some of the great engagement session images that I've been taking. I have been so fortunate this year to have met all of the great couples who've booked me for their weddings!

Thank you to each one of you. I am so truly honored every time someone asks me to document their wedding day.

Enjoy some of the images below and keep checking back for new posts!

Going to the chapel and we're going to get married...

Sarah & Jason's big day was on Saturday! I met Sarah and her mom just a few months back and was so looking forward to this day. Sarah had planned a wedding that had a throwback feel to the 1940's and I just loved every minute of it.

We started the day at Dominic & Co. where Christine and Tammy took care of Sarah's hair and nails. Christine and Sarah had been discussing her wedding 'do for the last 10 years at hair appointments...long before Jason was in the picture, so it was perfect! After Sarah's ring tone announced that she' was "going to the chapel", we stopped by her mom's house to pick up her beautiful dress from David's Bridal.

Then on to St. Timothy where we got to check out the flowers, done by DeSantis Floral. They got the peonies just right! Candy, from EyeCandy Cosmetics, made Sarah, her mom, Sue and Erin, the maid of honor look perfect!

On to the party with Fermata Music for the 40's inspried music, think Sinatra and jazz. The OSU golf club's courterous staff did a terrific job and VIP Photo Booths had a booth set up for Sarah & Jason's guests to leave a memento in lieu of a traditional guest book.

It was a great night, but most of all, it was so obvious that Sarah and Jason were meant to be. They barely looked away from each other all night. Thank you so much to you and all of your friends and family (especially my new BFF, Erin!). It was an honor to be a part of your day!

Enjoy the slide show.

A Wedding for Gina and Jason

Gina and Jason got married on Saturday!

It was a party from start to finish...Gina told me during the rehearsal she cheered the whole way down the aisle at the Westerville Community Church. The bridal party showed up in style with Ringer's Limousine. The beautiful flowers came from Bloomtastic, I loved the white calla lilies -one for each bridesmaid.

The girls had gorgeous up dos for the big day thanks to Erin Autry of Hair Lab at the Galleria of Salons in Dover, Ohio.

After braving the heat for some fun bridal party pictures, we headed over to the Pavilion at the Crowne Plaza North where Mark Dantzer had everyone out on the dance floor before dinner was even over!

I could see all of the joy that Gina and Jason had for each other, but it was even more apparent in the eyes of all of their family and friends. Thanks for having be a part of your day! Enjoy the slide show!

Hello? Is anyone out there?

I know, I know...you're saying, "WHERE are you?"

I have been so busy! I've done portraits of newborn twins, 5 engagement sessions, I went to the Heart concert, we're moving out of our house...the list goes on and on.
Stick with me though...new images to be posted soon. I had a wedding featured on the Savvy Scoop blog and soon I'll be a featured blogger for the DWF - wedding photographers will know how exciting that is for me!

In the meantime, enjoy one of my all time favorite wedding images

I've begun booking for 2010. Get in for a consultation sooner rather than leaving your date to chance!

Tips for Wedding Photography

Ever wonder how to take great wedding images yourself? Take a look at this article from the Sparta Tennessee Expositor. It's got some good ideas:

My favorite tip? My friends and family will tell you that I ALWAYS say, "Fill the frame!" You get the best pictures when the entire viewfinder is full of your subject. Here's an old favorite...developed, printed and scanned all myself!

Nichole & Jay

I had such fun at Nichole & Jay's wedding this weekend. She was beautiful in a Maggie Sottero dress, St. Peter's church in Worthington looked great decked out with the purple themed flowers and Bridgewater did a terrific job from food to decor. Michael, from Sinatra & Friends kept us dancing all night!

Many congratulations to Nichole, Jay and their beautiful family.

Photo sharing and online storage

Have you backed up the hundreds of digital images you take of your friends, your family, your dogs, your vacations? You should...online sharing can double as an "offsite" back up!

Check out this article that reviews several options for both the pro and amateur photog: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2347919,00.asp

I'm knee deep in wedding season and loving it, but wanted to share another portrait image from my marathon Sunday a few weeks back. Aren't these boys the cutest?

To close the post, I have to share a funny revelation. For months, I've been scoffing at all of the Facebook posts, media hype and general hoopla about some vampire named Edward and his story, Twilight. I couldn't honestly believe that adults were buying this.

Somebody bought me the book recently and it's been sitting on my nightstand taunting me. I read it last night...in four hours and have decided that I, too, am totally in love with said vampire, Edward Cullen. Wow, what a story...Stephanie Meyer is a talented writer, make the time to read this book.

Christine & Brian get married

On Saturday, I was pleased to be the photographer for Christine and Brian's wedding at St. Leo's Church in German Village. It was a beautiful ceremony, highlighted by a heartfelt homily accented with touching stories about their courtship.

Afterward, we moved on to the Westin Great Southern where amazing Italian food, superbe dancing and the most unique wedding desert idea I've seen capped off the night.

A brownie sundae bar was Christine & Brian's answer to the traditional wedding cake and their guests showed their approval by standing in line to get a scoop and pick from the vast toppings! Cheers to the Westin for accomodating such a fun idea!
Christine & Brian were obviously excited, nervous, happy and in love. They were both surrouded by their families who, too, were clearly so happy for the newly married couple.

Thanks to you all - especially Christine and her mom, Amy - for giving me the chance to share in this special and fun day!
